Maintaining net neutrality is an issue that should be of the highest concern to every business across the nation, not to mention every individual. If the FCC and Congress reverse current net neutrality rules, big cable companies will be able to control everything we see and do online. This could include widespread throttling, blocking websites and charging extra fees to reach an audience.
Unlike big cable, Digital West has always advocated for net neutrality and maintaining the privacy of our users’ data. That’s why we are joining companies like iFixit, Amazon, Twitter, the American Library Association and Netflix, in a massive day of action on Wednesday, July 12 to raise awareness and send a message that we must protect the open web.
We encourage you to join us in this effort!
Resources
The organizers of this “Internet-wide Day of Action to Save Net Neutrality” have developed a set of tools (e.g., graphics, videos, posts) that can be used to get the word out and encourage others to take action. You can find them here. You are also welcome to share or repurpose Digital West’s posts, blogs and related communications.
Participants
Below is a list of just a small sampling of companies & organizations that have confirmed to participate in July 12th’s day of action. We highly encourage you to join in and do your part to keep the web free.
